They likely didn't know? That's probably because their minister kept changing - from Ahmed Hussen to Sean Fraser annd now Marc Miller! Each person in office for such a brief period.

They were in office for an average amount of time if not longterm for a cabinet member. They didn’t know due to Covid. During the height of Covid many migration programs were changed. For example PGP was delayed until the fall and the quota for 2020 was significantly reduced. There were already steps to try to prioritize those who had been waiting for PGP the longest.

Unlike other cabinet ministers (such as the one for export promotion), why each Liberal IRCC ministers in office for such brief period of time? They did know about covid, but each IRCC ministers were just in office for such brief period of time.

It hasn’t been open to new profiles since 2020, and may not open up again this year. Expect announcement in the fall. Currently the 2020 has about 100k profiles in the pool so who knows if it will open this year. If it doesn’t there will be hundreds of thousands of profiles submitted for 15k spots.

If it does get opened expect the number of applicants will be hundreds of thousands for a limited of spots. There also seems to be an attempt to prioritize those who have been waiting the longest to sponsor because there is huge demand for a limited amount of spots. That is why EOI may not open until EOI2020 applicants have all been selected. In general parent sponsorship is not guaranteed and definitely not guaranteed after 3 years of meeting LICO. Would have a plan B if you can’t sponsor your mother.

Hi everyone, I am seeking your help. IRCC returned my parent's application. I got an email and asked me to check the online application. My mom's portion looks fine, but my dad's part got rejected along with three other forms. The email provided no instructions on how to resubmit my parent sponsorship paperwork.
It would be super helpful if someone could guide me. I was thinking of resubmitting the form using web form. The application was submitted on October 2023, and IRCC was reviewed at the End of January 2024.
