So my parents (in New Delhi) are awaiting their PR. Above is the latest update on their application. I am wondering what "Background Check" entails? Although they haven't been asked for PCC till now, should we just apply for a PCC beforehand so that we have it ready just in case they ask for it? Will save time. Suggestions?

My mom is also based in Delhi, but her assigned VO is CPC-M. Her file status is also "We are processing your background check." Not really sure what it entails. We submitted her PCC by email after it was requested back in February.

Just checked my PIL's MyCIC account and found a ghost update. Don't know what is it yet, hopefully good news. Will check it again tomorrow morning.

What's a ghost update? My mom's case is also with CPC-M with no updates in months.

I suggest you go through a Travel agent ideally based in India.* You should look at Vande Bharat Ph 6 (Sept 1 to Oct 24th) OR look for Del - YYZ Air Canada If they can do Mumbai to Delhi somehow...

Mumbai to Toronto will be very limited - via Frankfurt or via London. Look at Mumbai international departures to see what flights are operating.

Hey guys I have decided to go ahead and book my parents and brother flights this week.


Can u guys please help out with which flight to book.

They have new copr approved on july 2nd.

They will be coming from mumbai

That's great but make sure they will allow your brother to board as siblings are not immediate family for current COVID-19 travel restrictions as per this link

Hi I just received an email last July 8, 2020 for Medical surveillance for my mom's PGP application. We already did the check up and no update after.

My mom file is with CPC-M.......no update since Feb ...... BM, IME, PCC, etc all done........concur with you that they mass approve all.

Just noticed this, yes! if they have a job offer.

To be eligible, an applicant looking to benefit from this temporary public policy must

• have valid status in Canada as a visitor on August 24, 2020 and remain in Canada
• have a job offer
• submit an application for an employer-specific work permit that is supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) or an LMIA-exempt offer of employment, no later than March 31, 2021
• meet all other standard admissibility criteria

need help. my parents application was received by ircc on jun 10 2019. i received a letter on jan 10 2020 that we are eligible file now transferred to delhi. but after that no response. they are here in canada with me on visitors visa. i ahve applied for their visitors extension still no response on that. is there anything i can inquire or email?

Yes, you can. I'm going through both. Once you applied for spousal sponsorship, you need to update IRCC change in your marital status and provide your marriage certificate.

Hey I have asked my mp about my brother to which she replied


Thank you for your email. As long as your brother was part of the application, which it seems he was, he would be under the same travel rules as your parents.
