Thanks. If the dad does not want to immigrate for now, and only the mom's information is listed on the interest to sponsor form, if later the sponsor gets picked and the dad decides to immigrate then, can the dad be added to the application?
your spouse’s or partner’s dependent children, and
any other person you and your co-signer may have sponsored in the past for whom you are still financially responsible
2. Tell us the number of persons you want to sponsor and their family members. (required)
Count the number of parents and grandparents you want to sponsor AND their dependants (spouse or partner and dependent children). You must also include the dependants who will not come to Canada with your parents or grandparents.
Make sure to read the line in red above, need to include spouse/partner/dependent children even if they won't accompany your mother to Canada. Add 1+2 and look at the table below https://imgur.com/a/nhocpl[/QUOTE]
what s a family unit ? if one single person is sponsoring his mom and dad. so for the question how many family members are currently in a family unit, so it should be 1 or 3(including his parents).
The second question is so confusing , its asking how many members you want to sponsor , same time wants to include those who don't want to come,
so if parents have one dependent , so what will be the count , please help

According to the form, no. At the bottom, it says whatever information you submit on the lottery form has to match your application, if you're invited to apply.
Hi everyone!
My current family size is 2 (me and my husband). We are applying to sponsor my parents - 2 more people.
We qualify for income for all 3 years for a family size of 4.
I am expecting a child in March. So family size will increase when the lottery is already closed.
Technically, at the time I submit my lottery entry I don't lie about the number of people and we are fine on income. But if we win, then by the time we have to submit a full package there will be 5 of us and we are under the requirements for 5 people on year 2015.
I did not find any explanation for such case. What do you think CIC would do if the child is born after the lottery closed? And way after a year of 2015... Would they deny to process an application or should we risk and apply anyways and explain the situation in case we get selected?
I am in a similar situation as well. Only difference is I am getting married in March 2018. I talked to IRCC agent at their toll free number twice to be sure. You do NOT need income for 5 people for years prior to the year of birth of your child. You will need to maintain income requirement for 5 people from 2018 and going forward but NOT for 2015, 2016, or 2017. Make sure you submit birth certificate of your chid that shows the birth is in 2018. You can call IRCC call centre yourself to confirm. Congratulations and good luck for your child and everything!
Hello, I been reading through the pages but didn't seem to find my answer. If any one has helpful input would be appreciated. So my situation is my wife wants apply for her family total of 5 member's. Adding me and her self that's a total unit of 7 members to meet the Income requirement. This part I'm confused is that they say to add my parents Canadian citizens aswell. That would bump the unit to 9 member's and Thus us not making our Income requirement. Possible not have my parent's added to the unit? They are self sufficient and we'll off here.

Hi guys, I have a question regarding my Parents sponsorship. I got married in 2017 and have applied for my spouse visa for Canada which is still in progress. Before this my status was single for the past 3 taxation years.
1) Now what size of family unit should I choose? 1 or 2?
2) also for Mom and Dad the sponsored persons are 2 so that should make the income requirements for Family unit + 2 persons right?
So this will be my third year trying. I was eligible in 2016, but didn't get my application in quick enough.
Eligible in 2017, but did not get selected.
Here's to hoping third try is the lucky one.

Your parents aren't part of your family unit unless you previously sponsored them and the undertaking is still in effect. If that is the case, then they must be included for LICO and your spouse doesn't qualify to sponsor her parents.
