My parents’ application was updated yesterday:

The highlighted line used to say your applocation is in progress.... and yesterday it’s updated to We are processing your background check..... Does this mean they started checking the PCC and the additional documents they asked before and next step will be making the decision?

Yes, that's a good sign. Next step is PPR.

Hi All,

Need suggestion...My parents got medical request on May 17 2018. They had completed medical in Bangalore on June 05 2018.They were told that medical results will be uploaded with in 7 days. However, last night they got call from the hospital that they did not do the kidney test based on the blood sample and they have to visit again.....or get the blood work in a different city and the results e-mailed to them.

It is clearly evident that my parents medical reports were not submitted by the hospital to the immigration, Since the deadline to complete medicals is 30 days....will this impact my parents PR application....How do I get the extension for such issues ?

I have been trying to call the immigration customer care and no luck so far to talk to them....

Appreciate your suggestions.

My best advice is to email your LVO (ex. Ottawa) and explained them what happened and attached the confirmation that you did your medicals within 30 days timeframe. I don’t think that such a big deal as you confirmation that medicals were done on timely manner

Guys just curious did anyone here after receiving that generic email did status change that we are processing your background check? Mine didn’t change so far.. I received that generic email on June 5th and submitted docs on June 8th . As I see some of applicants only receive PCC request and now background check is in process. Happy for them but just curious

Today I called the doctor to see if she had submitted the Medical results and the office said it has been submitted yesterday but for my mom, she wants to see her again to discuss the chest Xray. Any idea how this process works. Even if the results are not ok, do they send it to immigration? Any information would be appreciated. I am really nervous. Thank you.

Don’t worry buddy everything will be fine… panel doctors don’t make decision on your medicals results…CIC does and even CIC won’t reject your application like that they will send you furtherance for more test and your parents needs to be seriously sick to fail medicals… which I don’t they are otherwise your doctor would have called you instead you calling them. Stay positive it all going to work out.. thanks

Hi,
Just received an email from cic asking for copies of my parent's old passport, which expired 8 years ago. The letter explicitly ask for the stamps for the U.S. visit over 10 years ago. We're not able to find old passport. We moved a couple times and it might be lost during one of the moves. If I write a explanation letter, will it result in the refusal of the application?

Mine didn't change either. Received generic email on June 5. Sent required docs on June 12.

Did anyone get confirmation of receipt (not automated reply ) of asking documents in generic email sent by cic on 4/5 June?

I got one automated reply right away but I am waiting for customize confirmation of receipt.

Thanks. I called and the staff told me that I was not a representative so she couldn’t give me any details. I need to fill in a form then become a representative. She emailed me the link. I will fill in the form and then call again.

I didn't get a separate email for BC, just the one for PPR.
Checked the IRCC portal, BC status was changed to 'in progress' the same day.
