Don't worry...there is a chance they might do it fast. I am a Pakistani passport holder too and it took me 10 months from the time when I applied till I got the PPR. Keep your hopes up
In case of Pakistani passport, what kind of security/criminality tests could they be, that it takes the VO months to process? It is really frustrating.

I am not sure but they would be in contact with the Pakistani authorities and all...Lot's of agencies are involved and it's not under the control of CIC but CBSA. There really is no time limit but usually it takes 2-6 months on average after RPRF Request...

Guyz got my passport request yesterday finally, The UAE PCC slowed me down. All in all it took almost 10 months. On a side note CIC got my passport today, how long do you think stamping of visa will take ?
What do you guys think? Do you really think there is a difference in processing depending on the applicants citizenship? I mean i know you do not need visa if you are from Visa-exempt country, but other than that.
I got my Passport request yesterday and today ecas updated to decision made! I applied in September so the process took less than 8 months! I came to Canada almost 6 years ago at the age of 18 and did not send any police certificates with my application nor did I get asked for one! Hopefully that should give you all some hope!

Just received my PPR Alhamdulillah. I came to Canada in April 2012. Lived in the UAE for more than 5 years. I applied for PR on August 27 2013. I did receive the request to send the PCC of Canada, and send it in Feb 2014. I send Paki and UAE PCCs with my application.
At the least, this gives one evidence that Pakistani PPs holders processing is not taking more time then others. I hope all Pakistani friends who are waiting for the PPR, get it ASAP InshaAllah.
I finally got my PPR on May 27th 2014! ;D Alhamdulillah!
I have 2 questions
1) If I send my passport with a relative to Ottawa and get it back from them here in Pakistan, will the airport authorities give me trouble as we can't send our passports abroad.
2) Is it better if i email them that I cannot sent my passports abroad as its illegal mailing pakistani passports and request to be stamped visa at CHC islamabad? I just dont want to cause any delays as I resume work in canada in August Inshallah!
Any person on the same boat, would love the advice.
