Does anyone ever face the situation where APEGA is asking/writing to their current employer to ask about their details, like their current employment status, role, nature of work, etc.? My application is in the internal Review stage as "In progress."

Yes. My manager was contacted to provide additional details about my work and position.

Please tell me how long it took to raise this question from day one. And by day 1, I mean the date APEGA administrative staff accepted it for review.
My file was recently accepted for Internal Review. I am an internationally educated EIT with APEGA.
I am contracting with my employer and am about to take an engineering technologist position, which APEGA may not consider a career progression. I am worried about this.
Could you please tell me more about the probable reason that APEGA asked for your current status and position?

Hard to say. I think APEGA wants to validate your canadian exp. In my case, APEGA wanted to validate the information as my manager is not a PEng.

Got my application approved today. Subject to passing of NPPE exam which I will take in Sep 2024.

Hi, can I ask you about your job description you submitted? They asked me for 6 months of experience. I'm pretty sure I have it, but maybe my description was not that strong

My application got deferred saying I need another 6 months of experience, but I'm pretty sure I have it....someone else in my company got the P Eng with a similar description years ago......now they don't like it lol.......anyone willing to share theirs?

That isn't good! But how do you know it is because of your current job description?

1. Meet the minimum requirement in the following competency category:

Competency Category 4 – Team Effectiveness



The Board wishes to inform you that you have scored below the overall category requirements in the following key competency: 4.1.

1. Obtain 3 months from June 2024 of acceptable Canadian equivalent engineering experience referenced by a P.Eng. who took technical responsibility for the work.

What should i do ? please help again a new application?

I have not received anything yet...
Up to you. You can request the reassessment or request for update providing the 3 months + a revised 4.1 competency. Not sure about how long would be the reassessment but request for update could take around 2-3months

Hi All,

5 years ago while living in Ontario I started the PENG process and was assigned 4 exams. I failed 2 of the exams and withdrew/ my application for PEO, Peng. Afterwards, I left Ontario and moved to Manitoba, where I have been living here for 5 years. While I resided and worked in Manitoba, I applied and gained PENG licensure. The company I currently work for, wants me to work on a project in Ontario and has asked me to apply for my Ontario peng using the inter-provincial mobility application. My old PEO applicant number and portal is deactivated as I never completed the application.

Question: Do you guys know if PEO will approve the inter-provincial mobility application considering my previous failed exams and considering I withdrew my first application with them years ago?
