Just got an email today with SA for my common-law partner's application submitted on March 18th. In the email it states the application is now being forwarded to CPC-Ottawa for processing.
This came as a surprise, as I was expecting it to be forwarded to the Sao Paulo office in Brazil which had some of the fastest processing times (5 months) until they changed the way they display processing times.
Now I've read here and there that the Ottawa office is primarily for processing US applicants. So what explains them having forwarded my application to Ottawa instead, and most importantly how does this affect remaining processing time?
Ottawa has recently started hiring more case processors and I've seen more and more applications that are supposed to go to other VOs get sent to Ottawa. They are currently processing applications in 4-6 months from the looks of it. Ottawa is now having some of the fastest processing times.
