I have a few questions that I need answers from u guys.. please help?
1. Is it okay to apply for an open work permit first before applying for a PR?
2. My divorce is still under proceeding and i wont get the result til November. My work permit will expire on January 2011. If I apply for an OWP with my marital status still "married", (since no divorce judgment yet), will the CIC question this later on when i submit my PR with marital status already "divorced" (planning to submit PR once received divorce certificate)
3. What will happen to my SIN, health card and driver's licence, since these ID's are concurrent with the expiration of my work permit? How can i renew these iD's without showing any new work permit?
please help me guys.. i need enlightenment on these matters, especially now that i only have 3 months left before my work permit expires. having sleepless nights about this.
I'm not sure you can get open work permit without AIP , that means you have to send in your application for PR and OWP . You should send in an application to extend your WP if you have valid LMO . My thought.

1. You apply for an open work permit when you submit your PR application, you will not receive it until you receive first level approval at about 9-10 months, so you will require a new LMO and new work permit, unless you are continuing work with the same employer then you don't require a new LMO or a new work permit. . I am assuming that you are applying as a LCP. You should start your reading of the instruction manual http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/5290E.PDF page 27
