Ongoing common-law PR+OWP applicant, got positive LMIA, need your advice

Dear all,

Thanks for reading my post. My story and timeline is:
- After my IEC visa expired in March 2020, my previous Canadian employer helped me to apply for the LMIA in July 2020 which was aimed to get a close Work Permit.
- with less hope to get the LMIA due to the pandemic, I applied common-law PR+OWP Aug 2020, no update yet
- Jan 2021 I got the positive LMIA decision

My question:
1. Can I apply for the close work permit if already have a PR application on-going, I'm not sure how fast I can get an OWP, so would like to go with the close work permit again.
2. Will the fact that I'm in the common-law situation impact the close work permit application?

You keep referring to you applying and getting an LMIA. This should only be done by the employer.

Thanks for your reply, the employer has applied the LMIA for me, do you mean they should actually apply for the work permit as well? Because they actually asked my to pay for this process.

Please allow me to add the following question, when I do the CIC online assessment to get the doc list, the website kept saying an OWP is my option, as they asked my marital status (I'm common-law), curious how to get the close work permit result?
