Hi everyone, I’m a Canadian citizen sponsoring my Polish fiancée for PR as my common-law partner. She’s been living with me in Canada since October 2022 on a closed work permit (LMIA, hotel/housekeeping job), which expires August 1 2025. We’ve been common-law since October 2023. We're planning to apply for her PR via Inland sponsorship and want to include an open work permit (OWP) so she can stay and work past August 2025. We’re currently gathering docs and doing forms and aiming to submit ASAP.
With her permit expiring August 1 2025 is there enough time to submit now and keep her status legal?
Should we bundle the OWP application with the PR sponsorship package upfront or wait for the AOR before applying for the OWP?
