im also wondering about that too...my passport expiry is 2019 and they only issue 2 yrs for my OWP..as i understand before, the expiry of the OWP will be the expiry of the passport or after getting the PR whichever comes first. please correct me if i am wrong.
Well my passport is valid till 2019 but OWP was only given for 1 year and I read others got 2 years. Is it because I've gone pass the 1st approval? Most of the OWP I've read here with 2 years happen to be those who haven't gotten pass through their 1st stage approval...I may be wrong please correct me

I would assume the validity is based on the estimated time left to finish processing the app. If you already have AIP, your app will be done in less than a year. Those who are receiving the OWP ~4 months after submitting the PR app still have around 2 years left in the process.
Hi there,
I sent my additional $100 to the mississauga address using my original UCI number. I sent it 4 days after the PR & OWP application was received so i am hoping it was matched up with my application. As of yet, i know others around my time frame are starting to receive their OWP or having their application returned, i haven't received any info saying 'yay' or 'nay'
approved June 23, 2015, received June 26, 2015, valid for 2 Years.
I phoned on June 15, 2015 and asked about my OWP, it took them only week to work on it. Thats so quick. And even Canada Post was amazing fast from Ontario to Alberta in just a few days.
Can someone update the spreadsheet for me? Thanks

I have a question i sent my open work permit April 6, 2015 after PR Spousal application February 18, 2015. I got an acknowledgement receipt for my PR Application April 30, 2015. But i haven't heard from my Open work permit until now. I got my Visit extension approved on May 20, 2015 which i applied Mar 24, 2015. And there was a remarks: that i must undergo Immigration Medical Exam within 30 days. Medical Forms have been Sent sepeartely but i haven't seen any on the mailbox. What should i do?
Should i expect letter from Immigration so i can conduct medical exam and am i expecting any acknowledgement receipt for my open work permit..
You can just go to any panel physician (doctor) in your city, connected to the CIC. you can find info about that on the CIC website. Then just make an appointment. make sure they use e-medical so the doctor will send your medicals to CIC digitally. You can also send a hardcopy of your medicals to the appropriate office that is processing your PR app. I wouldnt wait if I were you, will only cause more unnecessary delays...

Hey guys, just thought I'd let you know I got my OWP today, it was issued on the 24th of June and is valid for two years. My application was received by CIC 13th of April, so it took a little over two months which isn't too bad =)
