Hey. I've just started this process and hoped someone could shed some light onto the response I got from CPP-Ottawa.

My timeline:

Sent app in Jan 24th 2014
Sponsorship Approval/File transfer, March 7th 2014.

In my sponsorship approval I had a note about having the applicant do the medicals and send them in ASAP as we didn't do them upfront (which we should have as we applied OUTLAND but oh well). My husband did his medicals on Feb 27th 2014 as we knew we'd be asked for them.
We emailed a copy of the receipts on March 7th to CPP-Ottawa and attached a copy of the Sponsorship Approval as explanation. In the email I even said they probably won't have received our application yet.

Yesterday, I emailed again to confirm that they received our medical receipts. This is the reply I got today:

"Hello,

Our office has not yet received any correspondence associated with your application.

Kind Regards,

Case Processing Centre – Ottawa (CPC-O)"

Does that mean they didn't get any correspondence from me or the applicant, or any correspondence from Mississauga, and they don't have any clue about my application?

Thanks and sorry about the confusing question!

It is frustrating how vague they can be. Did you call the Help Centre? Worth a try. Maybe resend your receipts (keep copies of course) by registered snail mail or courier, then at least there should be a signature on their side that you can reference.

The CIC call centre? I thought they weren't much help after your application left Mississauga? I tried re-sending it, and if they don't have confirmation in another few weeks I'll send it in the mail I guess. I'm just worried as to whether the email was stating they don't have any record of my whole application.

I don't read it that way (that they have no reference of your ENTIRE app). Who knows how they treat emails internally, you would think they're posted to a central repository that can be accessed by any agent & anyone should be able to view it for you. Maybe that posting process takes time too (no surprise!). I would say surest way to alleviate your fears is to send the physical receipts & get a signed acknowledgement of receipt, then you at least have a name, specific date, etc. I too am a bit concerned because my wife and I are going to send an update to the child custody part of our application to Manila office (thanks to this forum we've recognized any extra bit of proof that will hopefully negate any concerns the VO may have in that regard and also avoid undue processing delays), definitely going to do it by courier with the hope it will ensure it doesn't 'evaporate' from the rest of the file contents.
