I was in a similar situation on Jan 25 I was given ceremony date on March 24 2025 and it is going to be in-person ceremony

looks like your case is similar to me I was scheduled for Oath on March 24 2025 and tracker was updated with this information on Jan 24 2025. I have learned that I will be receiving an invite for in-person ceremony at Kitchener.

Yes I have opted for virtual however IRCC rep updated me that it is going to be in-person

I just took the oath ceremony and want to share my experience and flow briefly here.

It was in Scarborough in-person. I arrived almost half an hour earlier but there were already many people there. Scarborough IRCC office is large and they first arrange us in a waiting section. Then everybody was checked the invitation letter to let in the swear room. One guest is allowed together to enter and arranged near the window area away from us. When I entered the hall, I was directed to register, put my PR card in a collection box, getting a folder with greeting letter from IRCC/PM, then seated at the number assigned.

After everybody is in. The clerk introduced the presiding official to start the ceremony. Some videos, then oath, then congratulations, then line by line people went to the presiding official and the clerk to receive their paper certificate. Then directed to the registration agian to sign. Then back to seats and o Canada. Then some other round of congratulations and dismissed.

At the end we had the chance to take a photo with the presiding official. The clerk told us to give at least 48 hours before applying for passport to allow information flow into the system.

They have a bunch coming up in Calgary, but they scheduled me for March 26 virtual, so I'm not sure.

I didn't look at all cities, but this site only seems to show upcoming ceremonies in the coming few weeks or month (of March right now). So how does it help? Those ceremonies might already be completely booked up.

It does at least give a sense of how often ceremonies seem to be held in each location, at least right now - eg twice on Mondays in Kitchener, twice each on Mondays and Fridays in Scarborough.

But no idea whether that schedule will continue going forward or whether there's some plan to change things up.

Any applicant waiting for their oath email from either Montreal or Vancouver office?
looked at all the past threads and seems like these two office are the slowest one to send oath invite. Some people have been waiting for more than 4 months now.

Hello, Does anyone know about citizenship applications where the Language Test and Citizenship Test aren’t needed? (for someone under 18 or over 54 yo) Will those sections say “In Progress” and then “Completed” in the online Status Tracker, or do they just stay in “Not Started” or “In Progress” the whole time until the Oath invite?

Just had the ceremony today in Kitchener, posting here as Canadian citizen now and feels surreal to type that! The ceremony itself was well run, the presiding officer was very positive and kind. Took about 2 hours end to end. Everybody got the paper certificate, regardless of what you had opted (I personally was very happy and in fact preferred that). They also asked to wait about 3 days before applying for passport so we're "in the system".
