I received my first ever update on my tracker since submission in Oct 2021.
19.5 months after submission, my BG is complete.
My security cleared way back in June 2022, but they did not send me fingerprints request until April 2023 as they had taken my file out of the processing queue for 11 months. Finally, my file seems to be processing again...

Yes, yet to take the test. I have not seen another case in the history of IRCC like mine.
I did not see any progress at all with my application after submission for 19 months after submission. My first update was when they asked me for fingerprints and that's after I sent them an email about it because I saw a note on my GCMS notes that it was identified as required in June 2022.

I was not talking about total time of processing. I know there are a number of cases out there that have taken 3-4 years and more. You read about them all the time in the media. What I have never heard of is a case where 19.5 months passed after application and absolutely no progress was made except for AOR. Admittedly I am only talking about citizenship cases in the last 4 years or so since I have been tracking it.
Before applying, I actually mentally prepared myself for a 3.5 year wait. If you see my messages from 2 years ago on this forum, you will see that. I actually still don't have a problem if they take 3.5 years. But what's upsetting was the fact that there was no progress at all for almost two years, which is highly unusual (never seen before in fact), and it was clear something was wrong. But IRCC would not acknowledge it and didn't do anything to fix it. I had to put in a LOT of effort to get them to act on fixing the issue and I think if I didn't do that, it would have languished for much longer.

Congrats on the update!
That's terrible, I feel your pain and anguish. They should finalize your application quickly, bearing in mind their error. You should receive the test invite soon!

Thank you I appreciate that. I hope yours get processed soon as well. I remember you are in a tough position. Really wish IRCC will pick up the pace, so you can focus on the real priorities…

Hello Friends,
Good news…
Oath scheduled for June 5th- Virtually confirmed by SCR office and tracker got updated as well.Still waiting for the oath invitation email.
is it possible to request in person ceremony? I read in this forum someone requested and they changed theirs to in person to June 2nd from June 5th-Virtual.
is it good idea or shall I just leave as is for virtual?

Not a good idea. In person ceremony are few compared to virtual ones. There is a case on this forum who requested for an in-person one and its more than 2 months and still did not receive any in-person oath date. If you are lucky it could work too.

Thank you. I was thinking the same not to go for it. I am good with virtual ceremony.
To be honest I am just overthinking with worst case scenarios regarding internet connection etc.
