It varies a lot. Depends on your office (and officer, I believe), on your case. But you can check the spreadsheet to see how long it took for those who already got the invite.

Took 40 days, hopefully rest is faster

Called IRCC this morning and they confirmed they received my fingerprints from RCMP. They said everything is looking good and to just wait for the test invite

That's a good question. The lady where I got mine FP taken said if you have a common name, chances are greater (and I do have a common last name). But I don't know. It seems to be very random.

I believe that it will be probably random as I dont understand the criteria for having common name. Anyways, I am just waiting for an update from them

It may be because they want to make sure you are you, and not someone with a similar name. But who knows? I think it's more random, too.
