Hi Guys,
Just got an update for my kid oci from Vancouver mission.
Date of acknowledgement nov 7.
Document printing status Dec 15.

I spoke to bls last week about the delay and they said Vancouver mission is closed for 2 weeks so they are running late. Hopefully they will fast track the process and everyone gets their oci.

Oh thankgod.. i thought i am never going to get mine. Please share when you receive yours in mail.

OCI timeline : for new born:
Date applied Walkin toronto - Nov 19
OCI- acknowledgement - Nov 19th
Original return :Nov 27
OCI- stamping - Dec 15
OCI card received- Dec 17th.

Np update on BLS with tracking num for the OCI
only message as : Passport ready For Dispatch after OCI stamping

I submitted OCI application for my newborn on 8 Dec at BLS and received the originals today by Purolator.
When I was submitting the application at BLS, one agent said that they will not be issuing stickers anymore.
I called BLS number today regarding same and they also said same thing.

Is there anything change recently ? I could not get any information on internet regarding this. Kindly help

Can you elaborate stickers ?, just the tracking will do for monitoring the status of oci

Hi, Did you apply in Toronto? Is it possible to track return of documents? I applied for OCI for my newborn on Dec 3rd (Postal application in Toronto). No updates yet.

I applied at BLS Montréal and I mean OCI sticker / stamping on passport.

I applied for my daughter's OCI on 12-Nov at Brampton BLS as a walk-in application and received her OCI at home on 11-Dec.

   • Under APPLICATION FORM, it asks for 2 copies of the form (in duplicate) - I am unable to download the application. The link http://blsindia‐canada.com/forms/HCI‐CGI_Surrender%20and%20Renunciation%20form.pdf is not working. Does anyone has the application form copy? And what do they mean by "2 copies of the form (in duplicate)" - are they asking to fill two applications by hand or fill one and then take a copy of the filled one?

Read carefully, duplicate is only for people who lost Indian passport.

You need to go to https://embassy.passportindia.gov.in , register, fill up and send the passport surrender appl. online.
Then take a printout of that appl. and send that
printout with your physical appl. to BLS.

Okay, I misread that. So that means "Deemed Surrender Certificate" form is also required for Lost Passport?

Yes. Actually it is not your fault, the way it is printed there is no clear cut division between two categories.

I had applied for OCI while i was in Canada. Currently, i am in India on a Entry visa. I gave my friend's address and he seems to have received the OCI card on Dec 21st.

I am planning to get it couriered to India. I have few questions :

1. After receiving the OCI, can i extend my stay beyond the Entry Visa expiry date ?
2. Does it need to be registered in anyway so it is linked to my travel ?

You wish to extend your stay on the basis of your new OCI which has not been issued in India.
So after you get your OCI, go to the nearest Foreigner registration office, FRRO and they will guide you correctly.

Hi,
Time line for my kid OCI but I’m still waiting for oci card. Bls website shows nothing at status. Not sure how long it will take to get the OCI. Our travel date is on Dec 31st not sure whether I will get it by that time
