OCI process

Hi,
They donot send any acknowledgement, you just have to keep checking the status on ociservices.gov.in and bls website.
Also, I donot think you will be able to receive your OCI by end of december as I have been waiting on mine(appliedNov 6), still under process. Also, e visa are still not available so the best option will be apply Entry visa. Hope thishelps

*Received my (surrendered Indian passport +certificate) on Dec 3

*But the OCI status on OCI enquiry site showed just today with Acknowledgment date
as today ( Dec 10) .


Looking at all that, when can I expect my OCI?

I've this showing on my OCI status :

Date of acknowledgment : Nov 20th
Surrendered Passport + certificate received : Dec 9th

Documents Printing Status	PROCESSED	On	10-DEC-2020
Dispatched From MEA (OCI )	NEW DELHI	On	10-DEC-2020
Document received At	TORONTO	On	10-DEC-2020

So would I get my OCI anytime soon?

Purolator guy is going get the postal cover? or we have to get and write the address and hand over to the purolator.

Purolator guy is going get the postal cover? or we have to get and write the address and hand over to the purolator.

After you make the courier payment to BLS, they will send you a confirmation email and also a link that will print the
address cover for Purolator. Print it , paste it to your envelope and give it to the Purolator guy when he comes.
Or if you want to use PUrolator envelope, tell him so when he comes, put your applications in their envelope,and he
will paste the address cover on it.

Hello Guys,
Any one applied for entry visa to India by post, how did you pay the fees? BLS website says Certified cheques only. But my bank stopped issuing Certified cheques in 2017. Can we still pay with Bank drafts?

I applied on 16 November in Vancouver. Acknowledge on 19. Still under process.

I read someone from Toronto mission got Printing status for application acknowledgement on Nov 20.. i guess Toronto mission is alot faster than Vancouver

Yeah. For some weird reason, processing time for toronto is 4-5 weeks n for Vancouver is 6-8 weeks.

I applied for my daughter's OCI on 12-Nov at Brampton BLS as a walk-in application and received her OCI at home on 11-Dec.

Hi, I'm trying to register online at https://embassy.passportindia.gov.in/ to apply for passport surrender certificate.

What is the Register to apply at / Passport office while registering online? It shows only Indian locations but the instructions ask you to register online to submit the surrender form. (https://portal1.passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/online/procFormSc)

Just got an update for my kid oci from Vancouver mission.
Date of acknowledgement nov 7.
Document printing status Dec 15.

I spoke to bls last week about the delay and they said Vancouver mission is closed for 2 weeks so they are running late. Hopefully they will fast track the process and everyone gets their oci.

Date applied - Nov 11
Date Received- Nov 12
Surrender passport approved - Nov 26
Surrendered passport received - Dec 04
OCI- acknowledgement - Nov 20th
OCI- stamping - Dec 11
OCI card received- Dec 15th.
