Give it at least 2 weeks to see the status on the OCI website..
In the past the get the status of your application on the OCI website it used to take about 20+ days and I understand that the processing times have gradually improved.

Came here looking for this response. Thanks boss.

I just applied today and wondering why OCI status shows error lol.

In case this might be of interest, I received my OCI on 29 April, making the process 8 weeks long since the day I applied at BLS Toronto.

Surrender of Voter ID

Hi folks, I wanted to share my OCI timeline, and an interesting update. Although I became a Canadian citizen in the summer of 2023, I procrastinated on applying for the OCI. I was really worried this procrastination would cost me cos of the new requirement/rule enforcement to surrender your voter ID (I've never had a ration card). But...I'm pleased to share my OCI was approved despite not being able to surrender my voter ID. I tried several ways to give it up using instructions shared here by others, but nothing worked. Even if checks are carried out at the MEA to confirm whether you have struck your name off the electoral register, I can tell these checks are randomized.
TLDR: Officers are either not checking for every application, or they do not have all of the information needed to conduct a thorough check!

They returned my OCI application because my spouse’s name should match her current passport. I had entered only my wife’s first name. Her current passport is Canadian, which does not include a spouse name section. Should I still include her full name (first and last) as per the Canadian passport?

I don't know what these people are doing. They call themselves the Indian Foreign Service, but there is no "Service" in their work. Just want to drag and drag the people they are supposed to serve.
