In my case, I had mentioned given name followed by surname in the form.
Thank you!
In my application I put my parents and wife's name as <surname> <given name> and it went though and is being processed at consulate general. Sure, I didn't have to submit my parents passport copies but I did submit my wife's passport copy.
But for some reason they are extra picky with my kid's application and they require it to be<givenname> <surname> :(

Hi everyone,

In voter id surrender, how can we update phone number using form 8 as it is showing i can not use that form for self correction from overseas!

Vancouver application.

Document received AtVANCOUVEROn23-APR-2025

BLS website update:
Counter Delivery to BLS Centre after OCI stamping

Passport ready For Dispatch after OCI stamping

Hi thank you for your response.

I did formerly have an Indian passport. Its just that I need to my birth certificate attested by mofa + consulate to continue with my oci process. Just struggling to understand why my birth certificate is required although I was formerly holder of indian passport.
Find it also strange that since you are an adult (I hope you are from your profile name ;) ) that they are asking for a birth certificate, as the BC requirements is only there for minor's OCI applications.
They should allow you to apply for OCI since you had a previous Indian passport issued by the consulate

But its BLS at the end of the date a pain in the butt..

I am referring to Voter ID/Ration Card Declaration. It only needs to be signed by Canadian Parents. If one of the Parent is still Indian Citizen, that Parent doesn't need to sign Voter ID/Ration Card Declaration.
Hi, Which date did you mention for family members already applied for OCI in online application form? Thanks.

Hi folks, the status for my OCI at BLS has changed to "Counter Delivery to BLS Centre after OCI stamping". Any idea how to find my Purolator tracking number? Will it be my application reference number (CANxxxxxx)?

BLS has made this whole process as frustrating and annoying as possible. I can't wait to hold my OCI and never have to deal with them again.

You are right, I am an adult.

In your opinion you do you think its worth mailing the application based on the information your provided. What would happen incase its not complete to their requirements?

Dont mail tbh... go to another BLS e.g. if you've been to the Toronto one go to the Brampton one instead or the otherway around

Hi all,

I applied to OCI walk-in at BLS Toronto in April 16. BLS changed the status to "Processing at Consulate General" on April 18. However, now on BLS the status changed to "under process" on April 25 and no further updates or communications. The OCI website still says no such record found.

Did anyone ever have their application status go from "under process" to "at consulate" and back to "under process" on BLS?

Give it at least 2 weeks to see the status on the OCI website..
In the past the get the status of your application on the OCI website it used to take about 20+ days and I understand that the processing times have gradually improved.
