What are the current processing times for mail-in vs walk-in?

It takes 6 to 8 weeks, Approx 40-50 days, only in rare cases it get delays in that.
None of the OCI gets before that.

only on OCI spousal basis, it can get delayed.

Hi Everyone! need some urgent help... I am applying OCI for my new born kid (2months old now) from Toronto and when I was checking the document checklist, it says parents marriage certificate is one of the document that's required.

Unfortunately, we don't have a marriage certificate currently and instead we have done the marriage affidavit for our PR process and IRCC was accepted it. Furthermore, our names are endorsed in each other's passport at Spouse section.

therefore, I would like to get some information on this how to proceed for OCI and has anyone on the same boat?

Marriage certificate is mandatory for the minor. In this case you have only one option, that is e-visa.
And you have to go to India and need to generate a registered marriage certificate. Affidavit wont work for the minor OCI.

If youre applying for yourelf, and the name mentioned on both husband and wife, then marriage certificate is not mandatory. But for minor its compulsory. You wont get the approval.

I opted return courier for OC Card. Can i collect it from BLS Toronto center once they receive it?

OCI once processed, is t sent from NEW DELHI? I saw few post where they received OCI next day after dispatch from MEA NEW DELHI.

If you see the status counter delivery to BLS Center, then it means in transit, as it reached or will be reaching next day.
Then the status changes to passport ready for dispatch. Once the status shows dispatch, on the same day or next day it will be get dispatched.
Better to wait, as the pickup line is always big, and they allow limited people only. Even calling the call centre wont work,as they are located in Delhi.
Courier will be smoother process.

My status has changed to PROCESSED today. Application submitted walk-in 31Jan, Acknowledgement 6Feb, Toronto jurisdiction.

Most probably by the end of march, or by next week.

Mostly it will be get dispatched by Monday. And on Tuesday you will be receiving it.
Moreover if you go, stand in the queue and pick it up, they wont refund the money.


Better it comes through courier if you opted for it.
