OCI process

I've not been following Vancouver timelines closely enough to comment. In Toronto, "In transit.." really doesn't mean that its in transit but more like ready for transfer between Consulate and BLS office which happens only once a day in the morning hours. Further, there are cases where BLS status completely fails to update even after mailing the document out.
Have you tried purolator tracking?

Fair enough that it’s hard to speculate Vancouver consulate cases . Yes it says printed on visa website on 8th Nov and then said in transit in BLS website the next day morning. So was hoping that would mean. It’s actually on its way. And yes I’m in Edmonton. So like you mentioned if they have only certain days that applications actually leave the consulate, mine may not have left on thur or Friday .. so ‘maybe’ left today and hopefully reach BLS tomorrow.. hmmm

@DPJ To add: I noticed you are in Edmonton (?). It could be that document transfer to Edmonton is done only certain days of the week. I have noticed some Edmonton applications start to process at the consulate soon (next day) after submission and some take several days. But again, without having a lot more data and a closer look, I can't say for sure.

And right nothing on Purolator either . We personally went to BLS today just a while ago and no luck. They just said they didn’t get it yet.

Yes, track using application number which usually is the reference number for the package.
Next time while at BLS try to find out whether they get (send) packages daily from (to) the consulate. Will be good to know.

Hello everyone,

OCI processed for 2 adults - Myself and spouse today, November 13th.
OCI acknowledgment for both adults - October 20th.

For minors - OCI acknowledged on October 25 and is under-process as of today.

***Update as of November 14***

2 adults OCI status on BLS - Counter Delivery to BLS Centre after OCI stamping.

For 2 minors, OCI processed - November 15. Dispatched date and received at Toronto - BLANK.

Finally an update end of evening from BLS. Two of our applications has the following message. The third one has the actual waybill number saying it’s been dispatched via puralator

I fail to see why people with travel plans in January and beyond are still depending on OCI which is known to be a drawn out process. Some of us who were thinking of e-VISA for pre-planned travel in October to mid December landed in a fix with the unexpected visa suspension. And we were compelled to use OCI as the only option left. But that crisis is nearing an end except for those having family emergencies.

If your travel in January is very important, apply for entry visa. Otherwise get OCI in hand and then plan travel.

Your chances of getting OCI before Jan 2 is non-zero but not very promising. If processing continues at the present speed, you may get it around end of December but its likely to slow down further. Add to that delays due to Christmas/New Year holidays, and it looks risky.

We only have 2 cases in the tracker for 9th and one has reported receipt today. In your case (processed on Nov 10) I would have expected delivery tomorrow but someone else also reported no dispatch status yet on BLS site or no trace on purolator. An additional day delay is not unheard of though.

Thanks. I called BLS late in the evening and was told they haven't received the OCIs yet from CGI. Not sure how accurate that is. Oh well, just have to wait now.
