That's regular process from BLS. Now you have check OCI status-Enquiry on https://ociservices.gov.in/.

I thought status becomes Processing at Consulate, so underProcess is correct status you mean ? Application is sent to Consulate for further processing ?

I already tried creating a dummy frro account to fill in exit permit and one of the mandatory documents to upload is copy of latest Indian visa. Has this guy done it or simply giving false advice?

Can we upload copy of Indian passport because we would be entering India using the India passport? Or the copy of surrender certificate?

It takes between 10 to 15 days for status to update.

It should be now on BLS website that OCI is ready for pick up or has been dispatched to your address. Check on BLS portal.

It's ok. Next week it should start appearing.

Digged out an old thread where someone confirmed they did this. But better to confirm with the frro before travelling if you are going to do this.

EDIT: The person also confirmed that once you surrender, you need to apply for a stay visa in India, for which Canadians are not eligible at the moment. So my suspicion was right I guess.

Received OCI booklet a couple of days ago. I sent a mail-in application to Brampton (Toronto). The timeline looks like this:

Purolator delivered to BLS	11 Aug 2023
Application Date (from BLS tracking)	21 Aug 2023
Originals delivered	21 Sep 2023
OCI delivered	28 Sep 2023

We can't be sure unless we see the acknowledgment in the OCI services website. Then again, that comes after 10-15 days.

Where you able to connect to BLS?
