Hey guys,
Just got oath invite in 2nd week of October and we are travelling first week of December. What do you think about passport surrender and OCI by Dec 7 2023 for oath on Oct 16 2023?
Wondering if we should cancel the oath at this point.

I am reading that there are 2 types of updates in the BLS tracker after submission.

1. Processing at the consulate
2. under process (written 2 times)

I read in this group that someone got the OCI for a family of 3, with 'under process' status. So, we should be good?

I am interested in knowing why the difference is there? Is it a clerical error of wrong drop down selection or something specific to the processing BLS office?

Can someone please explain?

Even if you apply for an urgent passport, you will have roughly 8 weeks for SC and OCI. That's going to be super tight, especially now as I'm guessing there will be more OCI applications in the absence of visas.

I think only BLS folks can explain this, I will try calling them today and see if they can elaborate on this. Problem with BLS call centre is that they cut the call rather than keep you in queue itself

I feel it's unnecessary to go through this hassle. Might as well reschedule the oath. At the most, they'll give citizenship after a year or even two.

I already tried creating a dummy frro account to fill in exit permit and one of the mandatory documents to upload is copy of latest Indian visa. Has this guy done it or simply giving false advice?

The status on BLS website says Under Process 2 times ? What does it mean the application has been sent to Consulate or still with BLS ? I thought status on BLS said In Process at Consulate.

I am worried has the application been sent back or something ?

Mine also says under process twice as well.

Don't know. Theoretically seems good. Someone has to try it out.

Underprocess twice both for me and my daughter. Also BLS has wrongly entered my date of birth (14 instead of 4) - not sure if that is material.
