Thanks for your response. Yes, I plan to enter and exit India on the same e-visa on the Canadian Passport.
My concern was whether the posting (mailing) of the OCI card is allowed from Canada to India? I will use the OCI card only on re-entry to India as you have suggested.
Nope you have to exit on same passport that you entered. There is nothing like it has to be on same visa. Do you know you can even apply for OCI from Delhi?
Im applying OCI for my Minor kid. What document I have to submit for the Professional details of the applicant?
If it's my professional document, do we need to provide both the parent's details or just one is suffice?
Please advice.
Thank you!
**** Update****
It seems the checklist I had was wrong, the latest one from the BLS site mentioned the document is not required for Minor Applicant.
Thanks everyone!
Hi everyone,
Hoping someone can help me out.
I am applying for OCI, I already did the surrender of Indian passport.
Can I apply for OCI for my wife and child at the same time?? We are married for more than 2 years as the requirement.
For filling out my wife’s form, I start a need application on the OCI services, the place we get stuck is at when it asks if my wife is applying through Indian spouse so we choose yes but then it asks about my OCI card number and issue date, which I don’t have one yet.
I am not sure how to go about it if I want to apply for OCI for my self who is originally Indian but Canadian passport holder and my wife and child are Canadian.
I would appreciate if someone can guide me on this matter.
Understood. I will not consider this postal route then to mail out the OCI card. Better to collect it in person by oneself, I guess.
One can get surrender certificate done in India and then do the OCI process in Canada?
I am planning to travel to India with my Canadian Passport on an e-visa soon after the Oath. I might be staying in India for more than a month, and I plan to get the surrender certificate done through the local Passport kendra during this time. Is that alright? I can then come back and do the usual OCI process through BLS in Toronto with this surrender certificate in hand.
I applied on 11 Sep, walkin Toronto location. OCI website still says no records found.
To be honest, now I am concerned after the recent clashes between the Indian and Canadian government. Mr. Turdo and Mr. Hag-meet has messed up big time

Exactly. With all due respect to protestors for whatever reasons they have( dont wanna politicize that or nor do I have interest in knowing who's at fault) I dont understand why consulates had to be stopped from functioning and cause this pain.
Sending application for OCI.
How many photos do I need to send?
Fees payment is confusing. Should it be payable to HCI or BLS intl services like for SC application?
TIA
