Hi. Is it okay to only submit self-attested copies of all documents for postal (Ottawa) OCI and not submit any originals?

Did you pay for drop off service to return originals ? Call or email .

In a way that makes sense.

1. When I applied for IND passport renewal at BLS Ottawa via postal, never sent any originals (except the old passport).
2. When I applied for Surrender Certificate also at BLS Ottawa via postal, never sent any originals (except for IND passport, since they need to stamp/cancel it)

So, similarly, I would expect them not needing originals for OCI either (not even the canceled IND (or even the CAN) passport since no stamping is needed).

Its crazy that their checklist is not same for postal and walkin. In checklist it is clearly mentioned to include originals.

Do you happen to have a number, I tried their 289, that goes to customer service center located in India and they have no knowledge on what is going on with your application. I have received a response on email as well.

I got appointment for Brampton oci for tomorrow9.40-10.00, I am going to cancel it, sent my application via post. Wish you luck if you could get it. Keep checking

Any one knows how long it will take BLS to deliver the OCI card after approved by CGI ? here is my timeline

Received By BLS - Sept 19, 2022
Processing at CGI - Sept 27, 2022
Acknowledgment on OCI website - Oct 18, 2022
Processed and printed - Received at Toronot- Dispatch from New Delhi - Nov 10, 2022
BLS Tracker - Counter delivery to BLS center after OCI stamping - Nov 11, 2022

After this, there are no updates. I call BLS Brampton twice and they said it's approved but have not received it from CGI yet.
I am worried as I am traveling on Dec 03, 2022.

I am exactly in the same situation. I am travelling on 3rd as well with the same dates as yours Oct 19th DOA, processed and printed Nov 8th, Dispatched - Nov 15th. Vancouver

I tried calling a few times with no success but people have been successful getting thru lucky them. But you have to just try.

Yes, just a letter from HR suggesting you are still employed with the company since...... There is no specific format, just what your HR uses for all it's employees.

Surrender Certificate shipped (via Purolator, paid online to BLS): November 16, 2022 (Expected to receive it today per tracking info)
