Well I applied via post. My application was submitted September 1, and application was at consulate around September 5, but Date Of Acknowledgement is September 19.
I am wondering why it took them so long. Could it be because of postal application? Now its showing me status Under Process. I have travel on October 15.
Getting nervous....
Does anyone have an idea how long more it might take from here?
From what I could decipher from the posts here in forum , it is taking 20-22 days after the AOR for the OCI to be printed. Takes some more time after that I guess to be dispatched. So I would actually give 4 weeks from AOR as the ball park time taken.
Trying to setup an appointment on the BLS website to surrender the Indian citizenship.
Which drop down option should I select: Passport or Visa?
If I select Passport and setup an appointment. on the email received it says the following..

On the email though they ask you to come to 40 Gillingham Drive, Unit 403, Brampton bit on the website however it says Applications for Visa and Passport Surrender at Bldg#60, All other applications at Bldg#40 Gillingham Drive, Brampton, ON

Earlier they used to accept the Surrender and OCI application together but not any more. For OCI, the surrender certificate is one of the mandatory document so you cannot submit both the application at the same time now.

I guess they temporarily moved the Visa and Surrender application to bldg#60 during May-June of this year. But since the appointment email says bldg#40 unit 403, it is the latest information. They might have missed to remove the bldg#60 from website.
Anyone recently applied for surrender can confirm this.

From what I know, 60 is the primary building for passport surrender applications. 40 may or may not accept depending on the number of walk in applicants for their primary applications(OCI/visa) on a given day

Thanks for sharing the feedback and nudge for others to confirm...
I have 2 additional questions:
1. Do minor's need to provide "Proof of Address" ?
2. Can one member submit application in person for everyone in the family without them having the need to go ?
