I need clarification regarding Visa. What visa to apply for Tourist or Entry Visa? I just became a canadian citizen and I want to go back home for a visit.

Ah, you are right. It varies by consular office. We applied in Calgary for Vancouver office. They are still accepting surr + oci together. I guess Toronto/Ottawa are not so you may have to get separate appointments. Also, they may require an actual surrender certificate before you could apply for visa, just check. My bad, sorry!

We applied for entry visa. I think BLS guy said that they will give you Entry visa (former Indian citizen) even if you apply for Tourist visa.

I have taken an appointment for passport for my son and just waiting to get his surrender certificate. Once I have it then will go and deposit his application.

My application is now up on the OCI website as of today. It shows “under process” for status. I didn’t receive any email notification, we have to keep checking daily.

Just checked. Yeah it's finally showing!!!

How long before we get it? any ideas?

What is the File Reference Number for OCI? Im using the CANT number to track my application but it says, "No record found". It says under process on BLS tracking page.

It takes around 15 days or 2 weeks to get ack (shows in oci website)

Mine still says no record found on the OCI. You mentioned your application was sent to BLS on the Jan 22 I think? So basically it took you 3 weeks to see the acknowledgment on the OCI website?

Mine says that the application was submitted to the Consulate General on Jan 27. It's been 2 weeks already but still shows no records on the OCI website, but since yours was three weeks I guess it could be another week for me too. I hope...
