OCI process

Filling OCI application for my spouse, completed the part A and part B and in the process to upload the documents.
The list has many documents to be uploaded.
In the instructions for marriage certificate and Spouse OCI card, it says applicable only for spouse based OCI applicants.

Question - do I need to upload the Marriage certificate, Spouse OCI card and Spouse passport?

Note - I have Canadian passport and OCI card. And we both are born and married in India.

include the new document requirement declaring the "Surrender of your Voter ID and Ration Card" under the Previous Indian passport section along with the other documents mentioned in the link above

Not needed if your spouse is applying for OCI on self basis

I would not suggest.. BLS needs slimmest of reason to return the application...

One suggestion for people applying by Walk-in at Brampton. Don't waste to much time thinking about what to write or which documents to upload. They are providing paid services where they will fill and upload documents with minimum charges. That includes pictures, print, copy courier etc. Possibly around $100!! I submitted my wife's application without hassle.. January 02, 2025 and showing processing at Consulate General @ BLS website.

Remember one thing, they only care about CGI " Consulate General Of India"
You cant make mistake in this.

You have to upload three things:
1. Canadian Passport under current passport section
2. Indian Passport
3. Voter ID Declaration under the Indian Visa Section

@forw.jane @abbas.pasha @Aathreya I just spoke to BLS agent and they confirmed that you need to upload the Voter ID and ration card declaration form under the Indian visa section. Other than that, I have uploaded
1) CURRENT PASSPORT (canadian)
2) EMPLOYMENT/ WORK LETTER
3) SPOUSE PASSPORT (canadian)
4) MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE
5) PREVIOUS INDIAN PASSPORT OF SELF (surrendered Indian passport)

Did you uploaded self attested copies ?

Only when you submitting application to BLS (by post or in person) you require self attested copies.
They are not required for online submission
