Mention Unemployed on OCI form. I am employed yet BLS folks put it as unemployed as my employment is outside Canada. Even though I could present my employment details to them like employment letter, payslips etc. BLS rejected my form and they filled up new form (premium lounge).

Have u received ur OCI card? Does it say “Unemployed” in progression?

In ur situation can’t we mention self employed?

I'm applying for OCI and the site https://ociservices.gov.in/ won't let me submit my application as my passport has expired. Surprisingly I had no issues in surrendering my passport. Anyone here who went through the same issue? What's the solution?

OCI is against the Canadian Passport. You are wrongly using Indian Passport.

hey, i was told by BLS person who takes our applications, that they reject application for OCI if person is federal employee. if they reject they’ll return draft.
but i don’t understand why they would reject it if person is not in military or intelligence
i am also waiting, when did you apply

I think it starts updating only after 4 weeks from the date of acknowledgment.

Hi,

Yes I had applied for e-visa when the OCI application was in progress. But I had got the OCI and used that to visit India and didn't use the e-visa.

We are a family of 4 applying for OCI (Fresh application) - One child is a minor. I have the following questions.

1) Do we need to self-attest the documents while uploading online?

OR

We don't need to upload self-attested copies online and we just need to carry the self-attested hard copies when we go for the BLS appointment (after submitting online applications)?

2) While going to BLS, is it enough if we carry the self-attested copies of the below

Canadian and Indian passports,
Indian passport and surrender certificate,
Birth certificate,
Marriage certificate,
Spouse Canadian and Indian passport,
Company reference letter,
Address proof.

3) And for minor applicants, do we need to upload any additional document (Online application)

OR

We just need to sign (Parents sign) in the hard copy of the minor's application page (Printed)
