OCI process

I emailed them but I don't even think that would have made any difference as I received an update very soon after. So, probably just a major coincidence I believe. As per all past updates it has taken anywhere between 70-75 days to process after the date of acknowledgement. Mine was processed on the 75th day.

Which email address did you send it to?

Mine was dispatched from Delhi on 10th Oct and received at Ottawa on 18th Oct. BLS site is not updated yet. I believe it should be ready to pickup by tomorrow.

Collected OCI from BLS Ottawa yesterday.

As I applied for oci for my minor but that is still in process so can i able to travel on e visa …i mean that doesnt effect on the oci process???

You already have eVisa or are you planning to apply now even when OCI is in process?

I am also in same boat. Except that my OCI is in process. Did you get e visa and was it smooth for you? Did you travel on visa before your child got his OCI?

I was able to start the e-visa application and was able to save a few pages of it earlier today too.

Application submitted in person to BLS Brampton on Oct 19 for myself and spouse. I'd earlier taken an OCI for my daughter through a walk-in at the same center. This time, I took a Premium Lounge option. Yes, it's considerably more expensive than an ordinary appointment but it was hassle free and I was in and out very quickly.

Application submitted in person to BLS Brampton on Oct 19 for myself and spouse. I'd earlier taken an OCI for my daughter through a walk-in at the same center. This time, I took a Premium Lounge option. Yes, it's considerably more expensive than an ordinary appointment but it was hassle free and I was in and out very quickly.

I also submitted my application on October 19 at BLS Brampton with regular appointment.

Interestingly, I used the photo that was previously rejected at BLS, and it was accepted this time. Also. the employee there directly added the SMS service without asking me, and I realized it after receiving an SMS alert 30 minutes after leaving the office. Did you have the similar charges?

I also see that they acted more sensibly when I submitted my OCI this time using normal method (not a chance I would encourage them with $100 lounge or whatever). In and out in few minutes. Looks like someone did some formal complaints the right way. This was Sept 21st ish timeframe. Waiting for approval right now.

Our photos were taken at the center as part of the package. Yes, they did send me an SMS with the confirmation.

I submitted my SC application at BLS Toronto today. I was forced to pay $62 for courier service instead of opposing and tell that I stay close by. Is this normal? I assume this would happen during OCI application too

For Toronto its normal. You need to fightback to get pickup option.

I would just be honest and give them the details they are asking for. I don't think there's anything to worry about if your information is true and correct. I don't have an answer on whether this will prolong your application but I would assume it would cause a minor delay. You can always get in touch with them over email and ask for update on timeline if it gets delayed by a lot.

Thank you. we emailed the details and we got the OCI card in a week. so it was just a one week delay.

I’m in a similar situation regarding our OCI cards. My daughter’s status shows that her OCI has been processed, dispatched, and received in Vancouver on October 18th, but we haven’t received any further updates since then. I received my OCI on October 12th, and before sending it, I received an SMS with the Purolator tracking number. My husband received his OCI card on October 19th, but he didn’t receive any messages or a tracking number.

We were fortunate to be home when Purolator attempted delivery, as they deliver between 1 PM and 3 PM. They will attempt delivery twice before scheduling a pickup. If not collected, they will hold it at the pickup location for five days before returning it.

The challenge is that we only learned this process because I have a tracking number, while my husband does not. I’m concerned about what might happen with my daughter’s application. If you happen to get a tracking number for her, could you please update me? Thank you so much!

That's so interesting!! I called BLS and they said when we see update on OCI website stating "Document received at" it means it's received by Indian HC/embassy which is later shipped to BLS and when BLS receives ans ships to the OCI they will update it on the BLS tracking site. Tbh, I don't have enough trust on BLS to be right on anything. So I'll wait out this week to receive my OCI. If not, I'll email BLS and Indian HC on Friday. I'll keep you posted on my situation, please do so from your end too. Thank you!
