I am trying to apply for the Thai PCC from abroad (India to be specific), but cannot for the life of me find any post office locally who sells international postage vouchers for Thai police to be able to send back the PCC? My spousal application is complete except for this one little item.
Has anyone tried to get a Thai PCC from overseas recently and found a way to do it? Are there any agencies either here in Mumbai or India or Thailand who can get the Thai PCC done and their approximate costs? Any idea from recent experience what are the timelines for issuance of a Thai PCC - website says 30 days?
the police certificate is something which you don't have privilege of ordering online or by sending someone. This should be done in person by visiting the police office.
Do I need to provide a Police Certificate with my Application for Permanent Residence? No. Citizenship and Immigration Canada will send you a letter requesting a police certificate after you send your Application for Permanent Residence. You must bring that letter when you apply for a Police Certificate.

Also, we got our Thai PCC after sending the PR app, but before waiting for CIC's request letter even though the quoted paragraph says it's needed. Actually we printed this off CIC's website and filled it out though probably didn't need it. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/PC_LetterA_e.pdf
Had someone else do it in BKK for us and paid for rush service for one week pickup, otherwise 30 days.
As for the pre-paid return envelope I'm not sure about that. Maybe a courier like UPS or Fed-Ex?
@Formalboygirl, my understanding was the same as what Canuck in UK mentioned that it can be done by post only if overseas - Thai Consulate confirmed the same. It's the international postage vouchers that stump me!
I guess the easiest route would be for me to find someone in Bangkok to get it done like Sawadee.
@Sawadee - the rush service you referred to? Is that direct with Thai police - as there is no such express service mentioned on their website.
If through an agent (could you share the contact)? What would be the cost for it?
This whole immigration process is an exercise in infinite patience!!!
Skitz - Yes the rush one week service was directly at the Royal Thai Police station in Bangkok. The cost seems to vary depending on the officers mood that day but tends to be between 1000-2000 baht, compared to 300 baht for the standard 30 day service. We had it done by a family member not an agent. Keep in mind if you have someone do it for you, you have to fill out an authorization form which allows them to do it and receive it on your behalf. That person would then send it to you.
