I couldn't find out which is the processing office rather I didn't try to find it. At present everything is 'In Progress'. When I called couple of weeks ago they said they will only be checking 'Background' and 'Prohibitions'. Not sure about timeline or how they process these kind of application.

I am in the process of applying for Citizenship application myself. There is one question in the application that says: Have you ever used any other names? I have not used any other name ever, but recently I started using the short part of my given/first name. It is only on LinkedIn, email signature, and on our company team page. My full first name (Rajpreet) is hard to pronounce so I thought to start using the short name (Raj) as I started a new opportunity. I don't think short names are nicknames or aliases or aka.
All of my docs have my full name (Rajpreet xxxx) and it is the same everywhere.
Do I need to mention my short name as the answer to Have you ever used any other name? Also, do we need to update them if we use any other nickname or name variation (like initial words of first and last name) after applying for citizenship) on social media such as twitter, LinkedIn, etc.?
It may not necessarily qualify as an "other name" in the context of the application.
Typically, the question about using other names pertains to significant variations that you might have used formally or legally in the past, such as a completely different name, a nickname that you have officially adopted, or any name changes due to marriage, etc.
Since your full legal name (Rajpreet xxxx) remains consistent across all your official documents and there haven't been any legal changes, using a shortened version for professional purposes might not need to be disclosed as an "other name" for the application's purposes.
I received a Ghost update today. My husband called CIC and they said his Background check is complete and that is the update. However, no changes in the tracker. Any insights?
A ghost update is when it shows "updated" on your file but no change in the actual process I.e. background check and all. It could mean that someone is working on your file or they are doing a system update.

Does anyone know why do some people get their background check done before test and other don’t??
whats the reason behind it tho??
I noticed those who got it done before the test, their applications move faster.
