Same timeline, i applied on May 2023 everything passed except Background Verification!

Nope, they didn't ask for additional documents. I did submit new admission letters since I had to defer twice so far.
Also I just remembered that I contacted an MP back in November 2023 and he said my eligibility had been completed back then and I was only waiting on the background check. So it is completed since November at least.

Do you know if your background has started? I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do honestly... This is my friend's application and I'm a Canadian citizen myself. But I have no idea how to help him. MP's are useless basically, and I've got nothing else!

I think the only thing you can do is to request GCMS notes from IRCC / CBSA.
I requested mine but it has been 2+ months without a reply on that either lol.

i can access the tracker and on the tracker my Background started on 20,June 2023! And in Nov they asked for ADR they started reviewing ADR in 16,April 2024 but still the Background in progress but i have seen people got their PPR after 14 months that is the my last hope... i dont know why background check takes so much time!

I sent 2 or 3 but I only received generic responses saying that it is processing. What about you?

Same here. Nothing works. Webform, MP, etc. They just don't give a damn

Same i get auto responses too, i guess we only have to wait i will post here if anything happens..

Today we got the IRCC response to our PFL and it was the best-case scenario! My friend was not deemed inadmissible and her study permit was approved! We received the PPR and now need to get her passport over to IRCC

Our timeline (251 days to PPR and 1 deferral):
Date of Upfront Medical: August 30th, 2023
Date of Application Submission: September 19, 2023
Date of Biometrics Collection Letter: September 19, 2023
Date of Biometrics enrolment: September 21, 2023
Date of PFL Request: December 8th, 2023
Date of PFL Response: February 29th, 2024
Date of Biometric Validity Letter: May 27th, 2024
Date of PPR Request: May 27th, 2024

Don’t know helpful it’ll be but maybe you can ask the others who also have open cases in this study permit tracker about their timelines? Our case took over 251 days and I found webforms didn't do anything and it was just a waiting game until they got to it... But some VO's are better than others, but more because some VO's have way more applicants than others I would assume so case loads vary...
