Hi All, I'm a bit worried about my applicaiton because I have kept the Children section of IMM5406 as blank (I'm single btw), so is there a chance that my application will be returned? Is there anything that i can do now to correct it? Should i send a webform to correct it? if so, what would be my UCI number? is it the same as the one on the work permit? Can anyone shed some light on it?
Since you are single and have no children, it’s typically fine to leave the “Children” section of IMM5406 (Additional Family Information) blank. However, some immigration officers might expect every field to be addressed explicitly (e.g., entering “N/A” or “None”) to avoid confusion. Here’s what you can do:
1. Will your application be returned?
• If the rest of your form is correctly filled out, leaving the children section blank shouldn’t automatically result in the application being returned.
• However, to avoid any possible delays, it’s a good idea to take proactive steps to correct the form.
2. What can you do now?
Yes, sending a webform to update the information would be a good idea.
• Explain in the message that you are single and do not have any children, which is why you left the section blank.
• Attach a corrected version of IMM5406 where you fill the children section with “N/A” or “None.” This way, the officer can update the information without needing to contact you further.
3. How to find your UCI number?
• Yes, your UCI number (Unique Client Identifier) is the same as the one on your work permit.
• If you’ve held any previous permits (e.g., study or visitor visa), the UCI would remain the same across all applications.
4. How to send the webform?
• Visit the
IRCC webform page.
• Select your visa office or relevant application type.
• Include your UCI, application number (if available), and your explanation with the corrected IMM5406 form.
By taking this step, you’ll minimize any chance of delays or issues with your application.
