Application submitted on March 2024 - Outland spousal USA

Background, biometrics, medical, eligibility are all completed and passed in IRCC tracker

I got this letter on July 2024 saying the following:

The processing of your application for permanent residence in Canada is almost complete. You must complete the following steps within 30 days in order to issue your Confirmation of Permanent Residence and, if applicable, permanent
residence visa.

I submitted a copy of passport (USA spouse sponsorship), PR photos, Annex A form, and a return envelope- I mailed this to the office in Ottawa (unfortunately I lost the tracking number so I cannot track it) on July 2024. COPR number was generated in IRCC on OCT 2024

I haven’t heard anything as of today, IRCC tracker hasn’t been updated to tell me they received the documents. Is this normal? Should I keep waiting

Try your MP.

Yes that’s true I did email my MP just yesterday. I am not sure how long the MP will take, kind of a stressful situation because my wife is 5 months pregnant. I mentioned to this to my MP, hopefully this won’t cause any delays but will put more urgency.

Is your spouse in Canada? Did you ever get the return envelope back? This whole thing doesn’t make sense.

no she’s from USA Outland sponsorship - yes it doesn’t to be honest taking way too long, to make matters worse she’s pregnant but IRCC doesn’t know that

If you don't hear back, I'd call them. They all have their specific approaches, but they will need a form allowing them to ask for info on your behalf (that's common amongst all). Apart from that permissions form, they basically will want a simple version of the file and issue - no specific form.

Yea my MP office is impossible to catch on phone calls, office never picks up the phone, leave a message with a question and will respond in 48hrs, so 48hrs per question. This whole system is a mess. I emailed them as well as they instructed me. Hopefully next week I will get updated.
