We are at passport request stage in express entry application so we seem to be close to gaining PR.
We need to 'land' within 1 year of medicals and I believe we do so with a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and permanent resident visa.
Can we enter Canada ('land') for a short period to meet the 'within 1 year of medicals' rule, show proof of funds etc and leave (asking a friend to forward our PR cards) before returning in two years? (we would be in Canada for the last three out of five years of our PR cards so elligible for a new card)
The reason for this is a temporary job offer in the UK and immigration issues in the UK.
Once you are became a permanent resident, which mean the day official landing, you can live outside of Canada, but must live in Canada for at least two years in a five-year period. If you live outside of Canada for longer, you may lose your permanent resident status. But I would suggest try to come back Canada before 2 years. Don't take a risk.
