Thanks! Just wondering, how do I update my timeline info on the left?
Look on the right top side of this forum while you are logged in, you will a banner with different options such as: Home, Assessment, Help,...then click on
Profile. you will see on your left side where it says
Modify Profile then go on the second line where it says
Forum Profile Information. but if you don't enought postage it might not show you until you have some comments on your threats. Good luck.
Ok I must not have enough posts then. Thanks

absolutely wish you and all the newbies Godspeed!!

Thank you so much for your help CanadaNow!
I just received back an email from the Nairobi Visa Office, and it turns out that everything is right on track!
My files have successfully been transferred to the Cairo Visa Office almost a month ago! I am now emailing the Cairo Office to make sure that they have received it.
And your process went by very fast! Amazing! It gives me hope when I see situations like those. Wish me luck CanadaNow, I think my real wait begins now!

CanadaNow, I'm really hoping our application goes as quickly as yours did! Do you know why it went so fast? Did you just send in a really well-done application?
Yes I believe our application was very thorough and well organized. We included a lot in our application.....
(ie: 500 pages of emails, 450 pages of yahoo chats, 700 pictures from a variety of environments/occasions of the years of our relationship, short version of our relationship history, long version of our relationship history & a ton of other supporting evidence)
.....yes yes I know there are going to be a WHOLE BUNCH of people who's opinion is that it is overkill and shouldn't have been done that way and they may not be wrong but obviously it worked for us (sorry for the rant, just gets old hearing the same people who choose rather than to simply say they would have done it differently that what we did was wrong).
anyway best wishes to you all!

I think that's great that you have that much evidence! I don't think you would ever be penalized for giving immigration too much to work with, and obviously it worked. Those people who told you you were wrong are probably wishing they could take it back now. We gave everything we could too, we don't have quite as much as that, but I'm hoping it works out for the best for us too!
Application was sent to Nairobi office at the beginning of March 2013. We tried two TRV since and they were denied. So we just wait now for the PRV application. All medicals and doc. went in the same time. If I go by best cases it is taking 5-6 months so maybe by September my wife and biological daughter will get the visas.
Scott
We also tried for a few TRVs and were denied.. I think it's rare to get them. Good luck with your PRV! Have you been approved as a sponsor?
Also, to everyone waiting for the Nairobi office, I am getting this message when I go to check for progress online:
Strike Action
The Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO) union is currently taking strike action. PAFSO union members responsible for processing visa applications have been walking out of offices in Canada and overseas.
Posted processing times for both temporary and permanent resident visa applications do not take into account work stoppages.
Anyone applying for a visa should anticipate delays and submit their application as far in advance as possible.
Contingency plans are already in place to ensure all offices remain open and are providing at least a minimum level of service. Priority will be placed on urgent humanitarian applications.
CIC continues to closely monitor the situation.
I'm really hoping this gets resolved quickly and won't affect any of our applications too much

[/yes I was approved in Feb/13
Yes well I did not know about this strike by embassy support staff! This is awful news.
Scott
VancouverMombasa, Thanks for the support.
And to all affected by the strike, I'm terribly sorry you suffer away from your loved one(s) while the striking power struggles take place.

I can't post the link but there is a petition on change.org to CIC called "CIC: Process Family Class Permanent Residency applications in a timely manner" that someone has started. If you have a minute, check it out (I'm not sure exactly how much they can really do, but it can't hurt!).
That's too bad then. Thank you anyways @ VancouverMombasa!
Here is the petition!
