I applied for our PR Card renewal and yesterday received an email from ICC informing me that they have completed the preliminary review of my PR card renewal application and the file has now been referred for a secondary review. I am not quite sure what that means and how much time more this is going to take.
In the past 27 months we never traveled out of Canada even for a day and meet the number of days requirement, so not sure why they want to review our application again and what am i supposed to be ready with if they ask for additional docs etc.

For quality control purposes, a certain percentage of applicants get randomly flagged for review. This is in addition to the people that are flagged for being suspicious. This is common with security - it helps ensure that risk-based screening is working properly.
If they ask for documents, provide them. They could ask for things like plane tickets, or rental history. It's not a big deal.

Who keeps plane tickets for 5-10 years though. I've always heard rumours about this one, I can provide travel history, but the actual tickets?
Not much hope, maybe I should keep storing them now?
I also tend to shred paperwork once I move on from a rental. I don't have any proof of places I lived > 5 years ago.
If you don't have the tickets, dates and credit card statements can also serve as a degree of evidence. If you don't have them, the research is harder (for them), but they can usually find out. You can also ask the airlines or countries for PNR data.
