Can me and my girlfriend, live with her mother for 5-6 months, then move to a apartment together? would this disrupt the course of becoming common law partners?
It is fine. Get a lease with both your names on it from the mother, or an affidavit from her stating that the two of you were living with her from ... to ....
Try to get some bills in both of your names addressed to the mother's house. Or one bill in your girlfriend's name, and one in yours. You should also try to get mail addressed to each of you or both together at the mother's house. Keep the envelopes as well to show the date.

I support the answer you've already been given, it's just important to have as much evidence as possible with regards your status, bills, rental agreements, bank statements etc. Also, even photos of you together on holiday can support your case.
All they want to see is that you are a genuine couple and it's not for convenience.
ok well, what if I live near here and visit her like SUPER often like every day and get on all of her utlity bills and stuff, i am not able to sign onto her lease till march. would this not be ok to do to become common law?

Just visiting every day while you maintain a separate residence from her will not be good enough. Even if you have your name on the utility bills, the fact is you are not living together.
Even if your name is not on the lease, if you are living there with her, you can use other things to prove cohabitation. However, if it is only a few more months before you can officially be on the lease, I would just wait.
