AOR Received.
30-04-2016
Hello everyone,
does any of you have any experience in correcting application forms that have already been sent?
I sent in my app 3 weeks ago and I found I made two mistakes on two different forms, one is on sponsor's form and one is on PR app form. I still havent received AOR yet, should I wait until i get my reference number or should i send them a letter/updated forms before they find out the mistakes and send them back?

Thanks

depends on how serious the mistakes are.

No reason to send the corrected forms, until you at least have an application/file number. Without this, CIC won't be able to match it with your application.

The first mistake was stupid, when we filled out the IMM5481 Sponsorship Evaluation question 7, it asks for the total number of persons in box 4-6, the answer is straight forward, which should be 2(sponsor and myself), and we were stupid enough to put 1 without noticing the mistake until now.
The second mistake was on IMM5669 Schedule A Background/Declaration question 6d, the answer should be "yes" because I got refused for an IEC work permit before, I guess I didnt pay enough attention when filling it out and put the wrong answer. For this one I know I can send a letter and explain it to the correspond office once I have the reference number, just not sure if i should fix the first mistake before they send the whole package back or simply refuse the sponsorship thing because they think it is "misrepresent" or we are trying to lie or something.

Wait until you get your UCI number from CIC. Once you have that, you can submit a case specific inquiry and inform them about the mistake that you committed. Once you have done that, wait for their instruction on what you should do (sometimes they don't ask you to resubmit anything). That's it!

Don't worry, the mistakes that you made are pretty common.

I don't think that the incorrect answer to IMM5669, question 6d, is a common mistake. This is a pretty major error that most definitely needs to be corrected.

What would be the best way to fix this?? Thanks

Imo send an explanation lettre to the processing centre explaining the error that you wish to fix it.
This way in the future you can prove with a copy of the dated sent email/lettre that you tried to fix it and it wasnt a misrepresentation on your side.

This is what i would do just be on the safe side, wether i have a UCI number or not. Good luck

OK, I'll send a letter to them, thanks

As I mentioned in my previous post, unless you already have a UCI number (or some other way for CIC to find you in their system, from a previous matter) sending a letter now will probably do nothing to help; they won't be able to match it with your application, because it probably doesn't exist in their system yet.

As soon as you have your AOR, you'll need to mail the corrected form to them, because it will have your signature on it. CIC requires original forms, so scanning and uploading will not work. You can then certainly try to send a Case Specific Enquiry (and upload the scanned document), but they will also need to receive the signed original.

I am not sure how much would this help if you do not have an AOR, since the Application no. and UCI are both mentioned on the AOR and you would need that info to raise a CSE. I would advise you to raise a CSE immediately as soon as you have all the info required as per the below link. You can use their web form to raise a CSE. Also if you know which visa office is processing your application, then send an email to them explaining the situation and attaching all the back-up docs for the same. HTH!

Hi thank u for ur reply. I have already submitted a CSE and sent a copy to the office via canada post. Although it's seeming that it still may not help me ,As stated above, I DO have a UCI number. My husband has one from a previous work permit ( he was here on work program ) but I'm learning that because app still hasn't been added to system yet , that they may or may not be able to add the forms
