Dear Chouhans,
1- If you are residing in UAE then you should apply to London office.
2- You need to pay 550X2 for two of you.
3- You have to declare your son on the form, whether accompanying or not.
guys...got my London AOR today dated August 12 with a new file number....tried the new file number and it gave me the same output using old file number....
they mentioned to contact them after 8 months once we do not received any correspondence from them...so countdown to APRIL 12, 2010 but I am hoping before that day comes...we will all receive our medical request....lets all pray to God for that....

Dear SJ2009,
Should i suggest that you also post your timings on trackitt.com . You seems to be doing fairly well with your application. Apparently with this pace you should expect passport request anytime by now.
Would you like to share your Medical Experience with us. (complete details)
Thanks,
I didn't apply yet but i think you need to breakdown this application process into two periods. Before Dec. 2008 and after Dec. 2008 or during 2009. I believe the process and timeline is completely different for applicants before and after Dec. 2008. Having said that, some of you observations are correct for applicants from other countries like UK and Ireland. You have to understand that Canada is part of the commonwealth and their system was and still linked to the UK! Beside the obvious they prefer immigrants from UK over immigrants from the Middle East/SE Asia.
Status changed today from "application received" to "in process".
I am still waiting for my medical request letter and also still no 2nd AOR from London.
mjm,
We completed our medical in Qatar on Wednesday. The process we went through;
1. We had to go to the DMP beside Sofitel Hotel to pick up forms that had to be filled, and a request for chest x-ray, blood and urine tests that were to be carried out at the designated lab.
2. Went to the lab with 2 passport photographs for each applicant above 5 years, and copies of our passport, and got all the tests done in one night. Results were sent to the DMP's clinic by the lab itself, and was there by the time we got there for our physicals the next day.
3. Physicals included height, weight, BP, and an examination including eye test by the doctor herself.
4. We were told the results would be sent to London by TNT that evening or the next morning and we can call to get the tracking number the following afternoon.
Hope this helps.
I would like to post my timeline as a by-line, but I am clueless on how to do this.
