I got my landing done on Sep 10th and then got married to my girlfriend on Sep 22nd. We weren’t in a common-law before.
She is here on tourist visa and now I am sponsoring her underfamily class. My question is - Did we do anything wrong; should I have waited longer to get married? Does it fall under mis-representation to not declare girlfriend?
PS: We have enough proof for the genuity of our marriage.
I dont believe you have to "declare" a girlfriend. Wife and children only to my understanding. But a senior member can tell you for sure. Congratulations! Good luck
you are not required to declare your girl friend......your marital status was single before you landed...... your marital status became married after you landed.......there is no misrepresentation.........your spousal sponsorship will be approved based on the proof of the supporting document and the genuineness of your marriage.
