We got ppr early this month, dropped off passport at vfs on 10th, they took three weeks for stamping and just dropped off the courier. Every step is super slow. Glad its done though.

I got the passport request a few weeks ago, we have the passport now.

I am permanent resident of Canada and applied for spousal sponsorship application on March 1st, 2024. Its has been almost 1 year since I applied but no luck yet. I contacted IRCC, Local MP office, but same answer that application is in process. I applied through immigration consultant even she is not responding calls now. My timeline is stated below:

Applied - March 1st, 2024
Application received- March 13th, 2024
Biometric Request - April 15, 2024
Medical Request - April 17, 2024
Sponsor Approval - April 16, 2024
Medical/ Biometric Completed - May 06, 2024
Eligibility Completed - June 12, 2024
Pre Arrival Letter (1st) - June 13, 2024
More Infor Required on application - June 18, 2024
Resume requested was submitted - June 25, 2024
Info Received by IRCC - July 02, 2024
Background Verification Started - Jul 02, 2024
Pre Arrival Letter (2nd) - August 07, 2024

After August no update, file is stuck in background verification. Contacted every single person, I could. So my question is following:

1) Should i apply for visitor for my spouse so that she can at least visit me? or it is risky game with current immigration prospects?

2) Medical would be expired April, 2025, once it is expired do i need to submit medical again?

My timeline is almost same and I applied via Quebec. My file is also stucked in background.
Answering to your question- yes you can apply for visitor visa but it is 50-50 chances to get approval and it won’t affect on your file if it get refused- that’s what I heard.
Secondly, yes IRCC will send a letter to redo the medical

In Spousal sponsorship, why they ask for resume ? is it for everyone.
