Hey just curious how the online test works. You just do it at home on a computer? How do they make sure that you actually are doing the test not anybody else for you?

Your camera will be on for the entire duration of the test. You cannot leave the field of view during this time. The immigration officer will likely review the recording along with the photo ID that you took a snapshot of at the beginning of the test.
If something seems off, they may ask you to submit a copy of your photo ID or take the test again (could be an interview too).

How long does it take for the Ghost updates to reflect in the tracker? I got one on the 16th and then another one on the 18th but no visible change so far. Thanks.

It can be anywhere from 1 day to 1 week. Usually it's a couple of days, but do note that while most ghost updates result in a profile update not all cause an update to your profile.
Finally, after a pair of ghost updates on the 11th and 13th of May, I received an email from IRCC... to request fingerprints. So either I drew the short straw, or there is someone with a very similar name to mine who is a dirty great criminal. In fact, I'm pretty sure it'll be the latter, because I did have a namesake (different middle name and date of birth, thankfully) who managed to get in the papers some years ago for their misdeeds.
Good news is that there's a RCMP-accredited fingerprinting office pretty much at the nearest street corner, so I should be able to get that sorted quickly enough.

In relation to fingerprints, would Background verification completed mean I dont need to provide Fingerprints? I got ghost update yesterday (May 18) and then background verification was updated to complete today (May 19).
