My AOR was on March 7, 2018.
I have just contacted IRCC, and they said that I have passed everything, just the medical expired, so they are checking if I will redo the exam or they would extend it.
Does anyone know what are the chances of getting my exam extended? and What is the approximate time left finalize my applicaion and get the ppr if the medical got extended?

Apparently, we are all in the same situation. Passed everything; medical expired, and applications are awaiting for an officers to review and approve. To answer your question regarding the extension of medicals, I read somewhere that it is in the discretion of the visa officer, meaning, he/she can extend them or ask you to re do that.
Best of luck to all, and I hope you update us here if you hear back from them.

Some companies don’t issue such letters, pretty sure of that, i dare not approach my HR to ask for such letter. I had to plead with my boss to help with a small ref letter though not in Ircc format, and backed it up with so many other information. Got ppr and visa stamped.
I am applying FSW-inland so I assume my VO should be Ottawa. the delay is mainly because of the background checks that took them 7 months to finish, but I do not know the detailed reasons.
I am hoping some of you here might help me to understand what is going on with my application:
My AOR was on March 8th 2018. I then got several updates:
- my medical exam shows as passed
- application eligibility is under review since around July 2018
- Dito for background check
Nothing much has changed on my application since then. Nothing at all, no ghost updates, nothing. It just got permanently stuck there.
My suspicion is that my application is stuck at ss: I am a former humanitarian aid worker, so I have lived in numerous countries, and of course I could not get a police certificate for quite some of them (think Niger or CAR for example...). I have submitted my employment certificates from a very well known and respectable NGO justifying the time in spend in each country.
I have tried contacting Immigration Canada to ask if there is anything at all I could do, any document that I could submit, but just got the standard response: we are working on your application and will notify you if we need anything.
It has been 11 months already....moreover, I was hoping to move to Canada in May for a super internship I got offered, but it seems that I may have to pass on that opportunity.... which is a pity because it was a dream job for me.
Anyone has had a similar experience? would anyone have any advice on what I could do to make my application move a bit faster?
My AOR was early April. There was no movement in my application, stuck at IP1 all along. And then after ten months-out of nowhere i got the email. Even few days before i called and asked they said my background check hasnt started yet.
I’ve been stucked at RR for reference letter. Today I got an e-mail with a letter from IRCC with recommendations on how to get a job in Canada (I already have a job). Is this a ghost update? Can this be the prelude of good news?? Fingers crossed!
