I have a question about non accompanying child. I have a son who has never lived with me nor do I have custody. Our lawyer had us add him to the application under non accompanying. I signed forms verifying the info and story. My question is if I would have to send his passport in to be stamped ? We we're recently approved for the second stage and I just realized this. If hes not traveling/landing with me or going to live with me in the future I was told that it wouldn't be needed but that he still had to be added. Anybody know ?
I am not sure about the non accompaning child but the only thing I know is u have to add them on the orginal file because if u choose to sponsor them in future and they are not on the orginal form it will cause u problems
Yup. Thats exactly what I did. From what I know that was all I had to do but I would like to make sure.
I believe u have to do a medical for them as well... I saw where someone had their file returned by cic because the childs medical was not done

Your son's passport would not be required for submission to the visa office as he is non accompanying which essentially means a PR application was not filed for him. His inclusion on the application is for future sponsorship purposes if you or your sponsor decided to apply for him at a later point so long as he meets the criteria of a dependent child under CIC.
His medicals were done as were required. Our application is done and approved so my question was about the passports. Thank you Halfmoon. I was certain it wasn't needed but I needed to double check.

No, his passport won't need to be stamped. As long as he has a medical done, should you wish to sponsor him in the future you can.

My pleasure. They only issue a COPR and counterfoil for someone who is landing. If you sponsored your child in the future, then they would stamp the passport.
