Dear friends,
It has been a long time since my last visit in this forum. Packing mode narin kasi kami. Ask ko
lang po if kailangan parin ba kumuha ng NBI or police clearance bago pumunta sa Canada for employment or is it just a waste of time? Thank you po in advance.

Most Canadian employers if need be would ask for a criminal abstract background check. Sa local police/ RCMP dito na lang nila ichi-check ang background mo. They naturally assumed that you have been thoroughly inspected by CIC prior to getting into Canada. Pero yang abstract background check is only done with your permission. Happy trip!!!! God bless!

Thanks so much Tigerlilly for your quick response, it make sense, there's no need to waste our time queuing at NBI, sabi kasi sa PDOS in case an employer in Canada ask for it, tama ka dahil CIC had checked and scrutinized our backgrounds before granting the visa. Thanks again. God bless you too.
thanks for sharing Mameeh! The ranking maybe true but have you heard why Ottawa is the least expensive city in Canada? Not only is the Parliament building there but there's more Canadians on WELFARE in Ottawa than anywhere else. I know people (couple with kids even) that cannot get welfare here in SK,gets it easy in Ottawa. Sad but true. Sharing din lang po ng reality.

Hi Lionheart. I lifted this info from a pdf file 'Applying for a Permanent Resident Card'.---If your Record of Landing (IMM 1000), Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM 5292) or other permanent residence document contains an error in your name, complete and submit a Request to Amend the Immigration Record of Landing or Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM 5218) before you apply for a PR card.
Im trying to send you the pdf itself pero for some reason, hindi ko magawa eh. ??? Pls google mo na lang yung form PDF file 'Applying for a Permanent Resident Card.
Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the passport come shining through for you
