Share ko lang pala, I saw this newspaper in a TTC bus called Toronto Metro (www.metronews.ca). The headline says "Newcomers hit hardest: Study." Unemployment gap found more pronounced in GTA (Greater Toronto Area). Kaloka di ba? Kami ng hubby ko, ready na to take survival jobs huwag lang madeplete ang settlement funds. So help us God!
as far as i know my sister wanred me already that the jobs in toronto and vancouver are rare to find. if ever you will be very much exploited. think about this. why will risk going there then later on transfer to another province? think of the expenses that you will face and not a good idea if youre with your family. might as well go to calgary or edmonton or any other province . my wife and i were hired within two weeks.
survival jobs here starts with $12 to $17 per hour. THINK ABOUT THIS

One of the learnings i got from attending Career Employment Program here in BC is that 80% of the jobs are hidden (that the only way you get to apply or know the opening is through calling companies and through career consultants who can refer you for free). 20% are only advertised over the internet, newspaper and other employment magazines. And i found it true! So the best way to beat these employment odds is to prepare well, i.e networking and finding the nearest employment resource centers in your area. They will even pay you (training allowance) just to get their services because they are all government-funded. ;D
