Hi there,

I am Canadian and my wife is Malaysian holding a Canadian PR living in Vancouver.
We are planning to migrate to Australia via Skilled Visa.
I understand that I'm able to get dual citizenship as a Canadian after living in Australia for awhile. But when we migrate to Australia I'm sure my wife will lose her Canadian PR and get an Australian PR.
In the case that things don't work out in Australia and I move back to Canada would my wife have to reapply as a Canadian PR before she is allowed to come back? Would she have difficulty getting approved again because she once had the Canadian PR but decided to waive it for an Australian PR?

As you are a Canadian citizen, your PR wife accompanying you maintains her PR status. The 2 in 5 rule doesn't apply.
