I am planning to land in Canada in July from UK. Is it fine if I carry a UK Pound Draft as my proof of funds or does it have to be in Canadian dollars only. Please advise.
Any particular reason why you want to hold the draft in £? I am assuming you will want to have access to (or at least some of) this fund immediately upon arrival in Canada. In that case, you are better of to have it in CAD$. You are guaranteed less hazel at the point of entry too. It also makes financial sense as you will be loosing money converting the £ draft to CAD$.
I am in similar situation. Status changed to DM about 5 weeks ago (a few days after PPR). Initially only the outside summary shows DM, but since 2 weeks ago both inside and full details shows DM. Our address has been missing since January, it has not returned yet. I am not sure if this means that our visa is not yet issued. I know ecas can be unreliable. I am waiting till the end of the weeks to complete the stipulated 6 weeks time frame before sending a CSE.

We landed here in Calgary last Sunday(06/05/12) , the IMO at PO ONLY ASKED US (HOW MUCH WE ARE GOING TO BRING INTO CANADA?) HE DID NOT LOOK FOR ANY EVIDENCE THOUGH WE HAVE A COUPLE BANK STATEMENTS SHOWING THE BALANCE IN OUR ACCOUNTS. WE TOLD HIM THAT WE HOPE TO WIRE .........X AMOUNT OF MONEY ONCE WE OPEN A CANADIAN BANK ACOUNT.HE WAS PLEASED WITH THAT AND TOOK NOTE OF THE AMOUNT WE MAY SEND OVER ELECTRONICALLY. HOPE THIS HELP.

I think you should send then a CSE soon.LVO is set up to frustrate applicants and sometime sending CSE wake them up from slumber! We landed here on sunday and it has been a very positive experince.
